Description

Turkey Stuffing Balls: Juicy turkey, savory stuffing and spices rolled into tasty balls. Quick, comforting, and perfect for pleasing a crowd.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups (500g) day-old bread cubes (sourdough or white bread work best)
  • 1 pound (450g) ground turkey
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup (240ml) chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced (about 1 cup)
  • 2 celery stalks, finely diced (about ¾ cup)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, for brushing

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Bread Base Start by ensuring your bread cubes are properly dried. If using fresh bread, spread the cubes on a baking sheet and dry in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 15 minutes. Place the dried bread cubes in a large mixing bowl and set aside. This foundation will absorb all the flavors of your **Turkey Stuffing Balls** while maintaining structural integrity.Step 2: Sauté the Aromatics Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onions and celery, cooking until softened and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant. The aroma will be incredible – this mixture forms the flavor base of your stuffing balls!Step 3: Season and Combine Add the chopped sage, thyme, and rosemary to the skillet, stirring to release their essential oils. Season with salt and pepper, then pour this aromatic mixture over the bread cubes. Gently fold everything together, ensuring the bread is evenly coated with the buttery herb mixture.Step 4: Add Binding Ingredients In a separate bowl, mix the ground turkey with the beaten eggs. Add this mixture to the seasoned bread cubes and pour in the chicken broth. Using your hands (they’re the best tools for this job!), gently combine all ingredients until evenly mixed. The mixture should hold together when squeezed.Step 5: Form and Bake the Balls Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a 2-tablespoon measure, scoop portions of the mixture and roll between your palms to form neat balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a small space between each. Lightly brush each **Turkey Stuffing Ball** with olive oil to promote browning.Step 6: Bake to Perfection Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the **Turkey Stuffing Balls** are golden brown on the outside and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Halfway through baking, rotate the pan for even browning. Once done, let them rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to settle.
