Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin-on preferred
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tbsp brown sugar (packed)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium works well)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper, freshly ground
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Combine melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, black pepper, dried thyme, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Whisk until brown sugar dissolves completely.
- Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place in a shallow dish and pour ¾ of the marinade over them, reserving the rest for basting. Let marinate for 15-30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or grill to medium-high heat.
- For oven method: Place salmon on a lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes. For stovetop/oven combo: Sear salmon in a hot skillet skin-side down for 3-4 minutes, flip, then transfer to oven for 5-7 minutes.
- During the last few minutes of cooking, brush salmon with reserved marinade. For extra caramelization, broil for the final minute.
- Let salmon rest for 3-5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
