- 1½ pounds (680g) large shrimp (16–20 count), peeled and deveined with tails on
- 3 tablespoons (45ml) olive oil
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
- 1 teaspoon (5g) paprika
- 1 teaspoon (5g) dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon (5g) brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon (2.5g) cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon (2.5g) ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon (3g) salt
- ¼ teaspoon (1g) ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons (8g) fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, brown sugar, cayenne, black pepper, salt, and cumin.
- Add shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for exactly 30 minutes.
- Preheat grill or grill pan to high heat (approximately 450°F/232°C).
- Remove shrimp from marinade and place on hot grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink, opaque, and showing grill marks.
- Transfer grilled shrimp to a serving platter, drizzle with melted butter, and garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
