Super Easy Beer Cheese Dip


Description

The ultimate party dip that takes just 15 minutes to make but tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen. Beer and cheese were meant to be together.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz (2 cups) sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 8 oz (1 cup) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup beer (lager or ale)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, toss grated cheddar cheese with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine cream cheese, milk, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt. Whisk until cream cheese is melted and mixture is smooth.
  3. Slowly pour in the beer while whisking constantly. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Add the cornstarch-coated cheese in small handfuls, whisking until melted before adding more.
  5. Continue cooking and stirring for 2-3 minutes until the dip reaches your desired thickness. If too thick, add a tablespoon of milk or beer to adjust.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve warm with pretzel bites, chips, or vegetables.
