Description

Sticky Honey Garlic Sausage Pasta Skillet with savory sausage, sweet honey, and garlic. Quick, comforting, and crowd-pleasing!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (340g) pasta of choice (penne, fusilli, or farfalle work beautifully)
  • 1 lb (454g) Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 4 tbsp (60ml) honey
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced (about 2 tbsp)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cook The PastaBegin by bringing a large pot of generously salted water to a rolling boil. Add your pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions, usually 8-10 minutes. Before draining, reserve 1/2 cup of the starchy pasta water. Drain the pasta but don’t rinse it—those starches will help the sticky sauce cling beautifully.
  2. Step 2: Brown The SausageWhile your pasta cooks, place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. When shimmering, add the Italian sausage, breaking it into bite-sized chunks with a wooden spoon. Cook until nicely browned with crispy edges, about 5-7 minutes. The caramelization here builds incredible flavor for your Sticky Honey Garlic Sausage Pasta Skillet.
  3. Step 3: Create The Sticky SauceReduce heat to medium and add minced garlic to the sausage. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. Pour in honey, soy sauce, and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to bubble gently, reducing into a sticky glaze that coats the sausage pieces, about 3-4 minutes. You’ll notice it developing a beautiful shine as it thickens.
  4. Step 4: Combine And FinishAdd the cooked pasta directly to your skillet, tossing to coat each piece in the sticky honey garlic sauce. If the mixture seems too thick, add splashes of reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency. Stir in the butter until melted, creating a silky finish to your sauce. Add red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste.
  5. Step 5: ServeRemove from heat and fold in chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese. The residual heat will melt the cheese slightly, creating delicious little pockets of flavor throughout your Sticky Honey Garlic Sausage Pasta Skillet. Serve immediately in shallow bowls, garnishing with additional parsley and cheese if desired.
