Spaghetti Pizza Casserole Recipe

Description

Try this easy Spaghetti Pizza Casserole with a cheesy, flavorful twist on pizza. Perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound spaghetti, cooked al dente
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (or pizza sauce)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices or crumbled Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (optional)
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing the casserole dish)
  • Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook the Spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook the Meat (If Using): In a skillet, cook the pepperoni or sausage over medium heat until browned and crispy. If using vegetables, sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper in olive oil until softened. Set aside.
  4. Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Add the cooked meat and vegetables, then stir to combine.
  5. Assemble the Casserole: Transfer the spaghetti mixture to the prepared casserole dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and any additional toppings you like.
  6. Bake the Casserole: Cover the casserole with foil and bake for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, uncover the casserole and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, and enjoy!
