Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil, divided
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 tablespoon)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- ¼ cup (60ml) low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, plus more for garnish
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients: mince garlic, grate ginger, slice green onions, and if desired, toast sesame seeds in a dry pan until golden.
- Heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground chicken, breaking it into small pieces. Cook for 5-6 minutes until no longer pink.
- Push chicken to one side of the pan. Add garlic and ginger to the cleared area and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar. Stir everything together, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in remaining tablespoon of sesame oil, most of the sesame seeds, and most of the green onions.
- Garnish with reserved sesame seeds, green onions, and red pepper flakes if using. Serve immediately over rice or in lettuce cups.
