- 2 eggs
- 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your choice)
- 2 sandwich buns (English muffins, brioche, or whole wheat)
- 1 tablespoon butter (for toasting the buns)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: avocado, spinach, tomatoes, hot sauce
Instructions
- Cook the sausage: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the sausage patties for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are fully cooked through and browned on both sides. Set aside and keep warm.
- Cook the eggs: In the same skillet, crack the eggs into the pan. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook to your desired level of doneness—sunny-side-up, scrambled, or over-easy. Once done, remove from the pan and set aside.
- Toast the buns: While the sausage and eggs are cooking, split the buns and toast them in a toaster or on a griddle with a little butter until golden brown.
- Assemble the sandwich: Place a cooked sausage patty on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with the cooked egg and cheese. Add any optional toppings such as avocado, spinach, or tomatoes. Place the top half of the bun on top to complete the sandwich.
