Philly Cheesesteak Garlic Bread

Description

Try this easy Philly Cheesesteak Garlic Bread recipe for a savory, cheesy snack or appetizer. Perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of Italian or French bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 pound rib-eye steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups provolone cheese or American cheese slices
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Set aside.

  2. Prepare the bread: Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Using a basting brush, spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread. Place the bread on a baking sheet and set aside.

  3. Cook the beef and vegetables: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers (if using) and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Toast the bread: Place the prepared bread in the oven and toast for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Assemble the garlic bread: Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Pile the cooked beef and vegetable mixture onto the bread. Top with provolone or American cheese and return the bread to the oven for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.

  6. Serve: Remove from the oven, slice, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
