Margarita Grilled Shrimp Skewers bursting with tequila lime flavor – perfect for summer BBQs and seafood lovers!

- 1½ pounds (680g) large shrimp (16–20 count), peeled and deveined with tails intact
- ¼ cup (60ml) silver tequila
- ⅓ cup (80ml) fresh lime juice (approximately 3–4 limes)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) orange juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely diced
- 1 teaspoon (5g) kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon (2g) black pepper
- 2 tablespoons (8g) fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon (15g) honey
- 1 teaspoon (2g) lime zest
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the Marinade In a medium bowl, whisk together the tequila, fresh lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, minced garlic, diced jalapeño, salt, pepper, chopped cilantro, honey, and lime zest until well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.
- Step 2: Marinate the Shrimp Place peeled and deveined shrimp in a ziplock bag, pour the marinade over, and refrigerate for 30-45 minutes. Rotate the shrimp occasionally for even flavor distribution. Soak wooden skewers in water.
- Step 3: Skewer the Shrimp Thread marinated shrimp onto skewers in a C-shape, leaving space between each. Brush with remaining marinade.
- Step 4: Grill to Perfection Preheat grill to 375-400°F, cook skewers for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and charred. Brush with fresh marinade during the last minute.
- Step 5: Serve and Garnish Transfer skewers to a platter, squeeze fresh lime, sprinkle cilantro, add a pinch of sea salt if desired. Serve with extra lime wedges.
