Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (454g) lean ground beef
  • 4 cups (280g) broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • ⅓ cup (80ml) honey
  • ¼ cup (60ml) low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup (120ml) beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Transfer to a plate.
  2. Add remaining oil to the pan. Add garlic and ginger, stirring for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, beef broth, and cornstarch until smooth.
  4. Add broccoli to the pan and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  5. Return beef to the pan. Pour sauce over everything, add red pepper flakes if using. Bring to a simmer and cook 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
