Description

Juicy chicken smothered in sticky-sweet honey garlic sauce ready in 30 minutes. This family favorite will have everyone licking their plates clean.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds total)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken breasts dry and pound to even 3/4-inch thickness. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F. Transfer to a plate and tent with foil.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic to the same skillet. Cook for 30-45 seconds until fragrant, stirring constantly.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer, scraping up browned bits from pan. Cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir cornstarch slurry and add to the simmering sauce, whisking constantly. Cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted and fully incorporated.
  7. Return chicken to skillet and turn to coat thoroughly in sauce. Spoon additional sauce over each breast.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
