Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds total)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat chicken breasts dry and pound to even 3/4-inch thickness. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F. Transfer to a plate and tent with foil.
- Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic to the same skillet. Cook for 30-45 seconds until fragrant, stirring constantly.
- Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer, scraping up browned bits from pan. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Stir cornstarch slurry and add to the simmering sauce, whisking constantly. Cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted and fully incorporated.
- Return chicken to skillet and turn to coat thoroughly in sauce. Spoon additional sauce over each breast.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
