Honey Garlic Chicken Breast

Honey Garlic Chicken Breast

Description

This 30-minute honey garlic chicken transforms humble chicken breast into a sticky-sweet masterpiece that’ll make you forget about takeout forever.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken breasts dry and pound to even 3/4-inch thickness if needed. Mix flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish and lightly dredge chicken, shaking off excess.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic to the same skillet. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, water, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk to combine, scraping up browned bits from the pan.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, nestling it into the sauce. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 5-7 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F.
  6. Transfer cooked chicken to a serving plate. Increase heat to medium-high and simmer sauce uncovered 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Pour sauce over chicken, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
