Description
This 30-minute honey garlic chicken transforms humble chicken breast into a sticky-sweet masterpiece that’ll make you forget about takeout forever.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat chicken breasts dry and pound to even 3/4-inch thickness if needed. Mix flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish and lightly dredge chicken, shaking off excess.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic to the same skillet. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, water, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk to combine, scraping up browned bits from the pan.
- Return chicken to the skillet, nestling it into the sauce. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 5-7 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F.
- Transfer cooked chicken to a serving plate. Increase heat to medium-high and simmer sauce uncovered 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Pour sauce over chicken, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
