- 2 teaspoons Kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon minced fresh thyme)
- 1 teaspoon dried sage (or 1 tablespoon minced fresh sage)
- 2 pounds ground Turkey-bacon
- 1–2 tablespoons avocado or canola oil
Instructions
- Step 1– Prepare the Spice Mix
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sage, and thyme. Set aside. - Step 2– Mix the Meat
Add the ground Turkey-bacon to a large bowl, then add the spice mixture, sugar, and fresh herbs. Mix with your hands until well combined and the spices are evenly distributed. - Step 3– Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into eight portions and shape each into a disc. Use your thumb to create a small divot in the center of each patty. Set aside. - Step 4– Heat the Skillet
Place a large skillet over medium heat and allow it to come to temperature. Add the oil to the pan. - Step 5– Cook the Patties
Place the patties in the skillet, leaving space between them and cook in batches if necessary. Cook each side for about 5 minutes until browned and crispy. The patties are done when the internal temperature reaches 160°F. - Step 6- Serve
Allow the patties to cool slightly, then serve and enjoy!
