Description
The perfect Halloween party snack that looks as spooky as it is delicious. One batch never lasts long in my house.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 cups plain popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
- 16 oz white chocolate chips or melting wafers
- 2 tbsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening
- 1 cup candy corn
- 1 cup Halloween-colored M&M’s
- 1 cup pretzels, slightly broken
- 1/2 cup Reese’s Pieces
- 1/4 cup black and orange sprinkles
- 1/4 cup edible eyeball candies (optional)
- 2–3 drops each of orange and purple food coloring (gel works best)
Instructions
- Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. Pick through cooled popcorn to remove any unpopped kernels.
- Set aside 1/4 cup each of candy corn, M&M’s, and sprinkles for topping.
- Place white chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals at 50% power, stirring between each interval until completely melted and smooth.
- Divide melted chocolate into separate bowls if using different colors. Add food coloring and stir well.
- Place popcorn in a very large mixing bowl. Pour 3/4 of the melted white chocolate over the popcorn and gently fold to coat evenly.
- Add the main portion of candy corn, M&M’s, pretzels, and Reese’s Pieces to the chocolate-coated popcorn. Fold gently until incorporated.
- Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets in a single layer. Drizzle remaining melted chocolate over the top.
- Immediately sprinkle with reserved candies, sprinkles, and eyeball candies before the chocolate sets.
- Allow to cool completely at room temperature until hardened (30-45 minutes).
- Break into clusters and serve or store in an airtight container.
