Make your Halloween legendary with this cosmic chocolate treat that looks like the night sky captured in fudge form. Your friends won’t believe you made it yourself!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (18 oz/510g) high-quality dark chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1 can (14 oz/396g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons (1 oz/28g) unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ½ cup (3 oz/85g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk (for swirl)
  • Blue and black gel food coloring
  • 2 tablespoons silver or pearl edible sprinkles
  • 2 tablespoons star-shaped sprinkles
  • Optional: edible silver or gold luster dust

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on all sides. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine dark chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt. Heat over low flame, stirring constantly until completely melted and smooth (5-7 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon condensed milk. Microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until just melted.
  5. Add blue gel food color and a tiny drop of black to create a deep midnight blue color.
  6. Pour chocolate fudge base into prepared pan, spreading evenly.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the midnight blue mixture randomly across the surface while still warm.
  8. Using a toothpick or skewer, gently swirl the blue mixture through the chocolate base to create a cosmic night sky pattern.
  9. Immediately sprinkle with silver/pearl sprinkles and star-shaped sprinkles.
  10. For luster dust (if using), wait 10 minutes then lightly dust over the top.
  11. Gently tap the pan on the counter to settle sprinkles into the fudge.
  12. Allow to set at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  13. Once set, lift fudge out using parchment paper. Cut into 1-inch squares or use Halloween cookie cutters for festive shapes.
