Description
This Halloween punch is what vampire dreams are made of. The deep red cherry potion with floating eyeballs and swirling fog will be the showstopper at your spooky bash.
Ingredients

- 64 oz (1.9 L) tart cherry juice, chilled
- 32 oz (946 ml) pomegranate juice, chilled
- 2 liters ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, chilled
- 1 cup (240 ml) grenadine syrup
- 3 cups (450 g) fresh or frozen black cherries
- 1 can (20 oz/567 g) lychees in syrup, drained
- 15–20 maraschino cherries
- 2–3 lbs (0.9–1.4 kg) dry ice pellets (optional)
- 750 ml dark rum or black vodka (optional, for adult version)
Instructions
- In a large punch bowl, combine the chilled tart cherry juice and pomegranate juice. Stir gently to blend.
- Prepare the eyeball garnish by patting lychees dry and inserting one maraschino cherry into each lychee cavity. Set aside.
- Pour grenadine syrup into the juice mixture, then add 2 cups of fresh or frozen cherries, reserving the remainder for serving glasses.
- Just before serving, slowly pour in the chilled ginger ale or lemon-lime soda along the side of the bowl to minimize fizzing. Stir gently once or twice.
- If using dry ice, carefully add small pieces using tongs or insulated gloves. Never touch dry ice with bare hands!
- For an adults-only version, set up a station with dark rum or black vodka for guests to add to their individual glasses.
- Gently place the lychee “eyeballs” on the surface of the punch and serve immediately.
