Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups (18 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk (1 standard can)
- 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (6 oz) white chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (additional)
- 1–2 teaspoons red gel food coloring
- 1/4 teaspoon black food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on sides. Lightly grease the parchment.
- In a medium saucepan, combine chocolate chips, condensed milk, and butter. Heat over low-medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth and fully melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt until glossy.
- Pour chocolate mixture into prepared pan and spread evenly. Tap pan against counter to remove air bubbles.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons condensed milk. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely melted.
- Stir red food coloring into white chocolate mixture until you achieve a deep blood-red color. Add black food coloring if desired for depth.
- Drop spoonfuls of red mixture randomly over chocolate base.
- Use a toothpick to create swirls by making circular motions through both layers. Focus on creating one larger swirl for the main “moon” effect.
- Let cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 2-3 hours until completely set.
