Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter
- 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup (85g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 8 oz (226g) dark or semi-sweet chocolate, melted
- 24 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
- 48 candy eyes
- 1/4 cup (50g) orange candy melts or colored white chocolate (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Melt butter, then whisk in sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time, whisking thoroughly between each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Sift together cocoa powder, flour, and salt, then fold into wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan, spread evenly, and bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are set but center appears slightly underdone.
- Cool brownies in pan for 1 hour, then refrigerate for 30 minutes until completely chilled.
- Twist sandwich cookies in half, keeping cream filling on one side. Cut each cream-filled cookie half into two wing shapes.
- Cut brownies into squares (12-16 pieces). Pipe melted chocolate onto the back of each cookie wing and attach to brownie sides. Add candy eyes using melted chocolate.
- Drizzle with remaining chocolate or orange candy melts if desired. Refrigerate 10-15 minutes to set decorations completely before serving.
