- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz high-quality white chocolate, chopped
- 1/3 cup pure pumpkin puree
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
- Ground cinnamon or cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)
- Caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium-low until warm with small bubbles forming around the edges (do not boil).
- Add the pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Whisk vigorously for 2 minutes until completely smooth with no visible pumpkin lumps.
- Reduce heat to low and add the chopped white chocolate in three batches, whisking between each addition until fully melted and the mixture looks glossy and uniform, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, whisking to combine. For an extra-smooth consistency, strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
- Pour into preheated mugs and top with whipped cream if desired. Garnish with a light dusting of cinnamon, a cinnamon stick, or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Serve immediately.
