Description

Creamy Crockpot Crack Chicken with cream cheese, ranch seasoning, and bacon. Addictively delicious comfort food for busy days!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds (900g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 packages (8 ounces/225g each) cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 1 packet (1 ounce/28g) dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) chicken broth
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients Begin by gathering all your ingredients. Cut your cream cheese into 1-inch cubes and allow it to soften at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, cook your bacon until crispy, drain on paper towels, and crumble into pieces. Reserve about half the bacon for garnishing later.
  2. Step 2: Add Base Ingredients to Crockpot Place your chicken breasts in a single layer at the bottom of your 6-quart slow cooker. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper evenly over the chicken. Pour in the chicken broth, which will help create steam and prevent the mixture from drying out.
  3. Step 3: Add Cream Cheese Distribute the cubed cream cheese evenly on top of the seasoned chicken. Don’t worry about mixing it in – the cream cheese will melt slowly during cooking and you’ll combine everything later.
  4. Step 4: Set Cooking Time Cover your crockpot and cook on low heat for 6-7 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours. The chicken is ready when it’s tender enough to shred easily with two forks. Avoid lifting the lid during cooking, as this releases heat and extends cooking time.
  5. Step 5: Shred and Mix Once the chicken is cooked through, use two forks to shred it directly in the crockpot. The chicken should fall apart easily. Stir everything thoroughly to combine the shredded chicken with the melted cream cheese mixture, creating that signature creamy texture of Creamy Crockpot Crack Chicken.
  6. Step 6: Add Finishing Touches Stir in half the cooked bacon pieces and all of the shredded cheddar cheese. Cover and cook for an additional 15 minutes on low until the cheese is fully melted. Just before serving, top with the remaining bacon crumbles and sliced green onions for color, flavor, and texture.

Notes

Fresh ingredients will always yield the best flavor results.
