Description

Cranberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bites are quick, comforting, and crowd-pleasing. Featuring cream cheese, cranberry, and flaky crescent dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packages (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 16 oz (450g) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup (240g) cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 3 tablespoons (45g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) orange zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25g) salt
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Filling Begin by placing the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl and beat it with an electric mixer until completely smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the sugar, vanilla extract, orange zest, and salt, then continue beating for another minute until well incorporated. Gently fold in 3/4 cup of the cranberry sauce with a rubber spatula, creating beautiful swirls throughout the mixture rather than fully incorporating it. Reserve the remaining cranberry sauce for garnish.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Crescent Dough Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Unroll the crescent dough on a lightly floured surface and separate into triangles along the perforated lines. If you’re making smaller bites, cut each triangle in half lengthwise to create two smaller triangles. Slightly flatten each triangle with your palm to expand the surface area.
  3. Step 3: Assemble the Bites Place about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on the wide end of each crescent triangle. Be careful not to overfill, as this can cause leakage during baking. Roll up each crescent starting from the wider end and curving it into a crescent shape. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, making sure to leave about 2 inches between each bite as they will expand during baking.
  4. Step 4: Bake to Perfection Brush each Cranberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bite lightly with beaten egg to ensure a beautiful golden finish. Bake for 12-15 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through, until they’re puffed up and golden brown. Keep a close eye on them after the 12-minute mark to avoid over-browning. Once baked, let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  5. Step 5: Finish and Serve Once the bites have cooled slightly, place a small dollop of the reserved cranberry sauce on top of each bite for an extra pop of color and flavor. If desired, dust lightly with powdered sugar just before serving. Arrange your Cranberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bites on a festive serving platter and watch them disappear within minutes!
