Description

Country Ranch Green Beans and Potatoes with Beef Recipe: Tender beef, fresh green beans, and hearty potatoes cooked in a savory ranch seasoning. Comfort food perfection!

Ingredients

Scale
  • pounds (680g) beef sirloin or chuck, cut into ½-inch strips
  • pounds (680g) baby potatoes, halved (about 4 cups)
  • 1 pound (450g) fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 large onion, sliced (about 1½ cups)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 packets (2 oz/56g) ranch seasoning mix
  • ¾ cup (180ml) beef broth
  • ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Pat the beef strips dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until shimmering. Working in batches, add beef strips in a single layer and sear for 1-2 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  2. Step 2: In the same pan, add remaining olive oil and butter. Once melted, add the sliced onions and cook until softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Step 3: Pour in the beef broth, scraping the bottom of the pan to release any browned bits – this is where so much flavor hides! Add one packet of ranch seasoning and stir until well combined. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Step 4: Add the halved potatoes to the pan, cover, and reduce heat to medium. Cook for about 10 minutes until potatoes begin to soften. You want them partially cooked before adding the green beans to ensure everything finishes at the same time.
  5. Step 5: Stir in the green beans, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and the second packet of ranch seasoning. Return the beef and any accumulated juices to the pan. Gently combine everything, cover, and cook for an additional 7-10 minutes until the potatoes are fork-tender and the green beans are crisp-tender.
  6. Step 6: Remove from heat and let the Country Ranch Green Beans and Potatoes with Beef Recipe rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the sauce to thicken slightly and flavors to meld together beautifully. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness.

Notes

Fresh ingredients will always yield the best flavor results.
