Description

Cinnamon Donut Bread: Deliciously spiced bread with cinnamon sugar crust, quick to make, comforting treat for all!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it thoroughly with butter or non-stick spray, then lining it with parchment paper with overhanging edges for easy removal. The parchment prevents the sweet bread from sticking and makes cleanup much simpler.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together your dry ingredients: the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined. This ensures your leavening agents and spices are evenly distributed throughout the Cinnamon Donut Bread.
  3. Step 3: In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, eggs, vegetable oil, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and fully incorporated. The mixture should look light and cohesive with no streaks of egg visible.
  4. Step 4: Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and using a rubber spatula, gently fold them together just until no dry spots remain. Remember, a few small lumps are perfectly fine—they’ll bake out. The batter will be thick but pourable.
  5. Step 5: Transfer the batter to your prepared loaf pan, using the spatula to smooth the top into an even layer. Give the pan a gentle tap on the counter to release any large air bubbles that might be trapped in the batter.
  6. Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean with a few moist crumbs. The top should be golden brown and slightly cracked.
  7. Step 7: While the bread is baking, prepare your cinnamon sugar coating by mixing the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Melt the butter in a separate small bowl.
  8. Step 8: Allow the Cinnamon Donut Bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then use the parchment paper overhang to carefully lift it out. While still warm, brush the top and sides generously with melted butter, then immediately sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture, pressing gently to help it adhere.
