Cheeseburger Garlic Bread

Description

Forget boring appetizers! This Cheeseburger Garlic Bread combines two comfort food classics into one irresistible treat that’ll have everyone fighting for the last slice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread (about 1618 inches long)
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio works best)
  • 1 small onion, finely diced (about 1 cup)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (for garlic butter)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional toppings: pickle chips, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, bacon bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice bread loaf horizontally down the middle to create two long halves and place cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  2. Combine softened butter, minced garlic (for garlic butter), and parsley in a small bowl. Spread mixture evenly across both bread halves.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook for 2-3 minutes undisturbed, then break up and continue cooking until mostly browned.
  4. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the beef. Cook for 3-4 minutes until onions have softened and beef is fully browned.
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Stir well and cook for another minute. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  6. Sprinkle 1/4 of the cheese directly onto the buttered bread halves. Distribute the beef mixture evenly across both halves, then top with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted. For a golden finish, broil for the final 1-2 minutes, watching carefully.
  8. Let cool for 2-3 minutes, add any optional toppings, then slice into 2-inch portions for serving.
