Description
The perfect summer indulgence that beats any coffee shop! This Brown Sugar Vanilla Iced Coffee is creamy, perfectly sweet, and dangerously easy to make at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (240ml) strong cold brew coffee or cooled espresso
- 2 tablespoons (30g) brown sugar (dark or light)
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 cup (240g) ice cubes
- Optional: 2 tablespoons (30ml) heavy cream
- Optional garnish: cinnamon stick or vanilla bean pod
Instructions
- If using hot-brewed coffee, allow it to cool completely before refrigerating for at least 1 hour.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup water with brown sugar. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves completely (2-3 minutes).
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and allow syrup to cool completely (about 10 minutes).
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Pour chilled coffee over the ice, filling the glass about 2/3 full.
- Add the cooled brown sugar vanilla syrup and stir gently to incorporate.
- Slowly pour in your milk, allowing it to create swirls through the coffee.
- If using heavy cream, drizzle it on top for a luxurious finish.
- Give everything a gentle stir, just enough to incorporate ingredients while maintaining attractive layers.
- Garnish if desired and enjoy immediately.
