Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls

Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls

Description

Make delicious breakfast sausage crescent rolls with buttery pastry and savory sausage. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick snack!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crescent Roll Dough:

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing the baking sheet)

For the Sausage Filling:

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild, spicy, or flavored)
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra richness)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions (optional, for added flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sausage Filling: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the breakfast sausage and cook, breaking it up into small pieces with a spoon. Cook until the sausage is browned and cooked through. If you’re adding onions, sauté them in the pan until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Season the sausage with black pepper and garlic powder to taste. Once cooked, drain any excess fat and set the sausage mixture aside to cool slightly.
  2. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  3. Assemble the Rolls: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a flat surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles. Spoon a small amount of the sausage mixture onto each triangle, adding a pinch of shredded cheese if desired. Roll up each triangle, starting from the wider end and rolling towards the tip, ensuring that the sausage is wrapped tightly.
  4. Bake the Rolls: Place the rolled-up crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the rolls with olive oil for a golden, crisp finish. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed up.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for added flavor and color. Serve warm with your favorite breakfast sides.
