- 1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch (2.5cm) fresh ginger, grated
- 2–3 red chilies, thinly sliced
- 3 green onions, sliced diagonally
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Slice beef thinly against the grain, then toss with cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C). Lightly spray beef with oil and arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook beef for 6-8 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Meanwhile, mix soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, ginger, and sliced chilies in a small bowl.
- Once beef is crispy, transfer to a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sauce and toss quickly for 1-2 minutes until sauce reduces slightly.
- Add bell pepper and cook for 30 seconds more.
- Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
