Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Recipe

Description

Crispy buffalo cauliflower bites with all the flavor and none of the guilt? This air fryer version will have you forgetting chicken wings ever existed.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large head cauliflower (about 2 pounds), cut into 1½-inch florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup buffalo sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut cauliflower into evenly-sized florets (about 1½ inches), pat dry thoroughly, and place in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss until lightly coated.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. If using panko, place in a third bowl.
  3. Coat cauliflower pieces in the flour mixture. For extra crispiness, dip floured cauliflower in egg wash, then roll in panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Arrange coated cauliflower in a single layer in the basket, working in batches.
  5. Cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. While cooking, whisk together buffalo sauce, melted butter, and honey (if using) in a small bowl.
  6. When cauliflower is golden and crispy, transfer to a large bowl and toss with half the buffalo sauce. Return to air fryer for 2-3 more minutes.
  7. After final cooking, toss with remaining sauce and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
