  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 teaspoons)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Marinade In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, sriracha, and brown sugar until well combined. Reserve 3 tablespoons of this mixture in a separate container for later glazing (store in refrigerator). Place the chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the remaining marinade over them. Massage the marinade into the meat, ensuring all surfaces are coated. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2-4 hours.
  2. Step 2: Preheat and Prepare Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 minutes. While it’s heating, remove the chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. Take the thighs out of the marinade and gently pat them dry with paper towels. Discard the used marinade.
  3. Step 3: First Air Frying Phase Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
