Description
Make a delicious Apricot Honey Ham with a perfect sweet and savory glaze. Ideal for holidays and family dinners!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bone-in ham (6–8 pounds)
- 1 cup apricot preserves
- ½ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the apricot preserves, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, cinnamon, and ground cloves. Whisk the ingredients together over medium heat until the glaze is smooth and warmed through. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove it from the heat.
- Prepare the Ham: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Place the ham on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan. Score the surface of the ham with a sharp knife in a crisscross pattern to allow the glaze to penetrate.
- Apply the Glaze: Brush the ham with a generous amount of the apricot honey glaze. Be sure to coat the entire surface of the ham. Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil to keep it moist while it bakes.
- Roast the Ham: Place the ham in the preheated oven and roast for 1.5-2 hours, basting every 30 minutes with the glaze. The ham should reach an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C) when fully cooked.
- Finish and Rest: Once the ham is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. During this time, the glaze will firm up, and the juices will redistribute throughout the meat.
- Serve: Slice the ham and serve with any remaining glaze on the side. Pair it with your favorite side dishes for a perfect meal.
