Air Fryer Apple Pie Bombs

Air Fryer Apple Pie Bombs

Description

Make delicious air fryer apple pie bombs with cinnamon, caramelized apples, and flaky dough. A quick, crispy treat for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Apple Filling:

  • 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, and diced)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, to thicken the filling)

For the Dough:

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (melted, for brushing)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Optional Add-ins:

  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 tablespoon caramel sauce (for drizzling)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (to add extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apple Filling: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice (if using), and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes until the apples are tender and the mixture has thickened. If you prefer a thicker filling, mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water and stir it into the filling. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  3. Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Place a spoonful of the cooled apple filling in the center of each dough triangle.
  4. Form the Bombs: Gently fold the dough around the apple filling to form a ball or a pocket, pinching the edges tightly to seal the filling inside. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
  5. Air Fry the Apple Pie Bombs: Place the apple pie bombs in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch each other. Lightly brush the tops with melted butter for a golden, crispy finish. Air fry the bombs for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Optional Toppings: After the bombs have cooled slightly, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce for an extra touch of sweetness.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the apple pie bombs warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a cup of hot coffee for the perfect treat.
